Press Release/PositionStatement

The economic stimulation plans coming out of Capitol Hill and the White House are more realistically foreign aid packages for China - at least according to 11th District Republican congressional candidate Carl Mumpower. "Most of the pittance our politicians are doling out will quickly be spent by consumers at Wal-Mart and other marketing arms of China Inc," said Mumpower. "This kind of government nonsense will do more to uplift their economy than ours." "Our leaders continue to ignore unfair trade practices by China, Japan, and other trade partners that are beating our manufactures down and sucking the life out of our economy," Mumpower stressed. "Then, to top it all off, the money funding these so called economic stimulate packages is borrowed - usually from the same China and Japan that are taking advantage of us on the front end." "Playing with interest rates and giving us a little of our own money back is a government shell game," shared Mumpower. "What we really need is reduced government spending, action on our deficit, no yield trade policies, and a responsible monetary policy. Economic stimulation packages proposed by the President and Congress are more authentically mini-welfare packages designed to seduce voters into reelecting the boys in the club. Ernest Hemingway said it best when he suggested we never mistake motion for action."
