~ Press Release~
On Wednesday a U.S. federal judge granted an injunction barring the Bush administration from implementing a program to remove illegal immigrants from the U.S. work force. The program was legally resisted by the American Civil Liberties Union and other labor groups claiming the program was unlawful. The ruling blocks the Social Security Administration from sending out 140,000 letters to employers with 8 million employees whose names did not match their Social Security numbers. Republican Candidate for the 11th District Congressional seat, Carl Mumpower, has taken exception to what he defines as “another example of the rights of illegal aliens trumping the rights of authentic citizens”. Under the program, employers notified of a "no-match" would have 90 days to confirm that an employee was in the country legally or fire him if not. “The President is finally taking some action steps against those who violate our borders and then add insult to injury by using illegitimate social security numbers to fake their way into jobs”, said Mumpower. “Between this judge’s failure to protect the real injured parties, funding for the migration by those who employ illegal aliens, paralysis by Congress, and ACLU enthusiasm for special interests over America’s interests, the average citizen continues to be the real victim of this charade.”
