North Shore Road Question |
|
Dr. Mumpower:
I was excited to note your decision to join the senate race. Finally, an alternative to corrupt corporate apologist (Taylor) and the Pelosi rank-and-file (Shuler). Your aversion to special interst groups is commendable and genuine. But, your recent announcement of support for the costruction of the Norh Shore Road has me flummoxed ... can you explain? I can see no bigger example of appealing to special interests than support of the building of a road, at taxpayer expense no less, that only a minute portion of the electorate want completed.
And for what
purpose ... to visit gravesites! And they currently have a means to
visit the gravesites compliments of the taxpayers. Can you explain
this decision? I really want to vote for you, but cannot reconcile
this position with your other "common sense" stances you have advocated
in the past.
John Yokley
John,
My position on the North Shore Road is very simple. We gave our word - keep it.
Your are correct in noting that I do not pander to any special interest
group - including the folks associated with this one. I encourage you
to vote as you feel best, appreciate your challenge, and welcome more
opportunities for such going forward.
