Fridays raid on 11 McDonalds restaurants in Nevada netting 56 illegal aliens brought praise from announced Republican candidate for the 11th Congressional seat, Carl Mumpower. Noting the patterned use of false identification, minimal screening by the company involved, and Federal paralysis that discourages local enforcement, Mumpower highlighted that the same situation exists throughout Western North Carolina. "Its not about race - it is about the law and Washingtons continuing efforts to resist and dodge enforcement." said Mumpower. "It is to our shame that we allow our borders to remain porous and ignore employers who fund and attract the mass migration that is straining our resources and artificially suppressing wages for our own citizens." Mumpower identifies illegal immigration action as one of the essential issues that he is targeting for action if elected in the 2008.
