~From the desk of the Candidate~
Press Release

Senator John
McCain may have stepped into a little tar with the North Carolina Republican
Party over its new TV ad campaign. McCain has publicly chastised the
state party for highlighting the endorsement of Barack Obama by gubernatorial
candidates Bev Purdue and Richard Moore. 11h District Republican
Congressional Candidate Carl Mumpower contends that McCain is the one who may
need a temperature check.
"The Senator
is entitled to have an opinion on other's campaign activities, but efforts to
control the behavior of a state party organization seem misplaced," said
Mumpower. "Democrats have a long tradition of spinning one way in
public and hiding realities - like liberal voting records - buried in the
background." "Whatever one thinks of Barack Obama, he has the most
liberal voting record in the Senate - that says a lot about him and those who
endorse him. I'm proud of the party for stepping up and trying to wake up
the voters of North Carolina to look beyond the smiles and polished words of
these Democrat candidates."
"It's my
understanding that Washington has this unique virus called 'Potomac Fever' -
the symptoms include generosity with other people's money and a tendency to
meddle in other people's affairs," noted Mumpower. "Senator
McCain may have come down with a mild case from which I am sure he will
recover." "In the meantime I would like to applaud the North
Carolina Republican Party for stepping up to the plate and shining a light on
those who continue to force liberal agendas down the throats of the
conservative majority in North Carolina."
