Press Release
-From the desk of the Candidate-
Monday, February 11, 2008
The filing period for the 11th
District Congressional election begins in Raleigh at noon on Monday and Republican
challenger Carl Mumpower will we be there when the door opens. “I won’t be camping out to be first in line,
but I will be there at noon with the $1,600 filing fee in hand,” said
Mumpower. “When I announced my
candidacy, I indicated I would run strong without consideration for who else
runs, money, or the prognostications of political pundits. Early filing is a firm step in that direction
and more footprints will be evident this week throughout the 11th
District.
“I am running as an independent Republican with
a dedication to fighting waste and bringing Washington back into focus on our
problems and our future,” said Mumpower.
“Paralysis and careless fiscal policies are undermining the American
Dream that we should be building for our children and grandchildren. I am a conservative , but more importantly, I
have the demonstrated courage to act independently, resist the absurdities of
both parties, and push to make our government act fairly and responsibly. Over the coming months, I am going to be asking
people to join me in the fight for what is right.I’m going to make sure that 2008 contest the
11th District Seat is not politics as usual – we all need something
better than that.”
